It all started here: In the garage at Karlstrasse 7 in Ispringen, Werner Koch invested a lot of hard work, sweat and passion in his first devices for dosing, mixing and conveying plastic materials. With years of experience in the field of construction, he put his ideas into practice from theory. The numerous patents and property rights are still the basis of KOCH-TECHNIK existing know-how.

Today Prof. Dr. h.c. Werner Koch, founder and managing partner of Werner Koch Maschinentechnik GmbH, who has turned a one-man operation into a global company with more than 200 employees, is one of the most successful and influential people in the plastics industry.

Construction of the first own company building, which was constantly expanded. Since 1984, dry air dryers have also been developed at the current location in Ispringen, which are particularly characterized by achieving an exceptional dew point down to -60 ° C. Thus achieving good drying results that are the benchmark for all competitors.

In 1996, KOCH-Technik opened the first plant in Ahmedabad, India, with joint venture partner Prasad-Koch Group Ltd.

In 2001 a technical centre and training centre, as well as a high-bay warehouse, was built at the existing location in Ispringen in order to meet the increased demand for products and devices as quickly as possible.

Graduated industrial engineer Carsten Koch, Werner Koch's second oldest son, becomes managing partner of the company KOCH-Technik and acts as sales director.

After the expansion, a new production hall was built for the dryer construction in the neighbouring municipality of Göbrichen in order to meet the increasing requirements and the particularly successful dryer series. Approx 4,000 m² of production space with the most modern equipment is now available for the construction of the granulate dryer for optimal production.

The oldest Russian university for technology "Technological Institute" in St. Petersburg will award the title of professor in a ceremony at Werner Koch on April 25th 2006. His tireless efforts with the University of St. Petersburg, as well as numerous guest lectures and technical support, are for the honor in the field of plastics engineering in Russia basis.

In addition to Mr. Prof. Bogdanov, head of the plastics department, also the prorector Muslennikov and the chairman of the university council, Dr. Dr. Skobochkin. Werner Koch also received high recognition with the exhibition of his life's work in the Museum of the Technical University of St. Petersburg.

On June 26, 2008, Prof. h.c. Werner Koch received an honorary doctorate from the St. Petersburg Academy of Education for his achievements in the field of production organization.

For more than ten years, Werner Koch has been offering Saint Petersburg students studying mechanical engineering for plastics technology the opportunity to complete a ten-day internship in Germany. The Russian students go through an extensive program with training courses, factory tours of companies in the plastics industry and technical discussions with experts. The chance of this internship in Germany leads to great motivation among the students every year.

In 2010 the company FASTI and its product portfolio of small dryers for plastic granulate was acquired and relocated to Ispringen as FASTI KOCH.

In 2018, KOCH-Technik took over the majority stake in the Mexican company GiTamsa, based in Querétaro, with which we have worked successfully since it was founded in 2011. The new sales and training center in Querétaro was opened this year. Aspiring to expand its market presence in Northern Mexico, KOCH-Technik has acquired a property in Saltillo, near Monterrey, to open up another sales office and TechCenter.

Werner Koch's youngest son, Alex Koch, joined the company in 2019 with a dual study program at the Baden Württemberg Cooperative State University with a study location in Karlsruhe and has since supported the management alongside his studies in “Entrepreneurship”.

Today, KOCH-Technik employs over 200 people, is represented worldwide with agencies in over 100 countries and has its own branches in Russia, France, China, India and Mexico.
