THE ROAD TO SUCCESS



1974

KOCH TECHNIHOW IT ALL BEGAN...

This is where it all began: In the garage at Karlstraße 7 in Ispringen, Werner Koch invested a lot of hard work, sweat and passion into his first devices for dosing, mixing and conveying plastic materials. With years of experience in the field of construction, he turned his ideas from theory into practice. The numerous patents and industrial property rights are still the basis for KOCH-TECHNIK's existing expertise today. Today, Prof. Dr h.c. Werner Koch, founder and managing partner of Werner Koch Maschinentechnik GmbH, who has turned a one-man operation into a globally active company with more than 200 employees, is one of the most successful and influential minds in the plastics industry.

1984

THE FIRST COMPANY BUILDING...

Construction of the first company building, which was continuously expanded. Since 1984, dry air dryers have also been developed at the current site in Ispringer Industriestraße, which are characterised in particular by the achievement of an exceptional dew point down to -60° C and thus achieve good drying results that are considered the benchmark for all competitors.

1996

PRASAD-KOCH GROUP Ltd. INDIEN

In 1996, KOCH-Technik opened its first plant in Ahmedabad, India, with joint venture partner Prasad-Koch Group Ltd.

2001

TECHNICAL CENTRE - HIGH-BAY WAREHOUSE

In 2001, a technical centre and training centre as well as a high-bay warehouse are built at the existing plant in Ispringen in order to meet the increased demand for products and appliances as quickly as possible.

2003

NEW DRYER CONSTRUCTION PLANT 2

Following the expansion, a new production hall was built for dryer construction in the neighbouring municipality of Göbrichen in order to meet the increasing requirements and the particularly successful start-up of the dryer series. Approx. 4,000 m² of production space with state-of-the-art equipment is now available for the construction of the pellet dryers to optimise production.

2006

AWARD OF PROFESSORSHIP

The oldest Russian university for technology "Technological Institute" in St. Petersburg awards Werner Koch the title of professor in a ceremony on 25 April 2006. The honour is based on his tireless efforts with the University of St. Petersburg, as well as numerous guest lectures and technical support in the field of plastics technology in Russia. In addition to Prof Bogdanov, Head of the Department of Plastics, the Vice-Rector Muslennikov and the Chairman of the University Council Dr Dr Skobotschkin were also present. Werner Koch was also honoured with an exhibition of his life's work in the museum of St. Petersburg Technical University.

2008

AWARD OF HONORARY DOCTORATE

On 26 June 2008, Prof. h.c. Werner Koch receives an honorary doctorate from the St. Petersburg Academy of Education for his achievements in the field of production organisation. For more than ten years, Werner Koch has been offering St. Petersburg students from the Mechanical Engineering for Plastics Technology programme the opportunity to complete a ten-day internship in Germany. The Russian students go through an extensive programme with training courses, factory tours at companies in the plastics industry and technical discussions with experts. The opportunity to complete this internship in Germany is a great source of motivation for the students every year.

2010

TAKEOVER OF THE FASTI COMPANY

In 2010, the company FASTI and its product portfolio of small dryers for plastic granulate was acquired and relocated to Ispringen as FASTI KOCH.

2018

SHAREHOLDERS IN GITAMSA MEXICO

In 2018, KOCH-Technik acquired a majority shareholding in the Mexican company GiTamsa, based in Querétaro, with which it had been working successfully since its foundation in 2011. The new sales and training centre in Querétaro was opened this year. KOCH-Technik has already acquired another property in Saltillo (near Monterrey) for the opening of a further sales office and TechCentre in the north of Mexico in order to expand its market presence there.

2019

ALEX KOCH JOINS THE COMPANY

Werner Koch's youngest son, Alex Koch, joined the company in 2019 with a dual study programme at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University in Karlsruhe and has since been supporting the management alongside his "Entrepreneurship" studies.

2023

MANAGING DIRECTOR ALEX KOCH

Alex Koch, Werner Koch's third eldest son, becomes managing partner of Werner Koch Maschinentechnik alongside his father.
