What is blow molding

Blow molding is a process for producing hollow bodies from thermoplastics. In this process, a preform is subjected to internal pressure and pressed against the contour of a blow mold, giving it the desired shape.

Blow molding is a special injection molding process and has become very important in the plastics processing industry for the production of bottles, containers and other hollow plastic parts. The process is characterized above all by the fact that the parts produced have comparatively thin walls. This keeps material usage and costs low.
